The Supreme Court held tha the bail condition of sharing Google PIN location with the IO as a condition for grant of bail is unconstitutional.It is hit by the Right to Privacy which is inherent in Art 21 of the Constitution in terms of Right to life.
The apex court also struck down the condiion of taking an assurance from the embassy of the reqisit country that the accused will be attending trial.
This was decided by the Supreme Court on 08.07.24.
Commentary
An accused aggrieved by the conditions of bail imposed by the Trial court or sessions court can challenge the same in terms of thos being in violation of constitutional provisions.
