The enaction of Uniform Civil Code by Uttarakhand has been pathbreaking in the legal and social space of India.It is a long awaited reform and is indicative of the evolution of the Indian civilization.
For long the indian diaspora has been divided along imaginary lines of caste and religion and it is about time the idea of India and a unitary identity took shape and centre stage in our mindsets.
